12/16/10 Blog Assignment
Whether during wartime or not, the bombing of cities and civilians is a completely unfair and unjust act. Bombing these civilians and cities is a tactic used to scare people into giving them what they want. For instance, Germany continuously used this tactic to scare other regions of Europe. However, this tactic is completely unfair and unjust due to the fact that there were many innocent lives lost and put in jeopardy due to these bombing. Not to mention the absurd amount of damage placed upon all of the cities that were bombed. Which is why, the bombing of cities and civilians is a completely unfair and unjust act.

Reflection
During a time of war, I believe it is wrong for citizens to be forced to give up civil liberties during a time of war. By doing this, the government violates the first amendment; freedom of speech. The government would not allow the citizens to talk bad about the government and their decisions for the war. However, I do believe that the government should have to enforce loyalty. This should be done because, if the citizens of the US traded weapons with such countries as Germany, they would be supporting the Germans cause. Because of this, I do believe that the government should have to enforce loyalty.

Remember the Maine, to hell with Spain!

Last evening, February 15 1898, the U.S.S. Maine was near Cuba in order to protect the U.S.' interests during the Cuban revolt against Spain. However, the U.S.S. Maine suddenly went under a surge of panic as the ship exploded and suddenly began to sink. Over three thousand passengers were on board, many died. Survivors say, as they started to hear the explosions you could see many Spanish divers surrounding the boat in the water. As soon as the explosions rang out, the divers began to evacuate from the scene, yelling obscenities towards the boat about how much they hated the U.S.. That's all the known information we have for now, as soon as survivor's reach the U.S. there will be additional information.
